Article from Kingston Daily Freeman, October 8, 1910 SHOT AT ACCORD Irving in Serious Condition from Accident. Cornelius Irving of Accord was shot in the groin by the accidental discharge of a gun at that place this morning. He was brought to the Kingston City Hospital this afternoon on the 12:50 Ontario & Western train and is in a critical condition. [His daughter says that he and his brothers had found an old rusted rifle in a field and did not realize it was loaded. While they were fooling around with it, one of his brothers pulled the trigger and Cornelius was shot.]

Obituary in Greene County Examiner-Recorder, June 7, 1956 CORNELIUS IRWIN Cornelius Bogart Irwin, aged 59, passed away May 30 at his home in Medway following a long illness. Mr. Irwin was born in Accord, N.Y., May 27 1897, the son of Eugene E. Irwin and Malissa Relyea. He is survived by his wife Emily V. Quick Irwin, Medway; and children, Emily Lakeburg of New York City; Robert K. Irwin of Coxsackie; Lois Tomecek, Athens, Joyce Ritter, Catskill; Norma Pollack, Albany; Cornelius Irwin, Jr., Coxsackie; Katherine Dufkin, Coxsackie; Royal R. Irwin, Medway; Virginia Millet, Earlton, and Charity Mills, Saugerties. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 2, at 2 p.m. from the Gardner Funeral Home. The Rev. Fairbanks officiated with burial in Riverside Cemetery. Mr. Irwin was a veteran of World War I.
