ROBERT IRWIN SR. Robert K. Irwin, 72, of Coxsackie, died Monday, January 17 at Community Hospice at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany. Born in Coxsackie December 11, 1932, he was the son of the late Cornelius B. and Emily V. (Quick) Irwin. Prior to his retirement, Irwin was the owner of the Grossman Insurance Agency of Greene County. He served in the Naval Air Corps from 1950 to 1953.  He was a life-time resident of Coxsackie, a life-long member of the First Methodist Church of Coxsackie, and a member of the Earlton Fish and Game Club. Irwin also was a former town supervisor and a former president of the Coxsackie-Athens Rotary Club. He was an active member of the school board, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was an excellent cook and he enjoyed cooking for church suppers. He also was a member of the Coxsackie VFW and American Legion posts, and was a past master of Ark Lodge No. 48 F&AM Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Nina R. (Rosa) Irwin; a son, Robert K. and wife Mary E. (McQuillan) Irwin Jr. of Coxsackie; a brother, Royal Irwin of Medway; six sisters, Charity Mills of Saugerties, Virginia Quick of Medway, Joy Ritter of Catskill, Lois Tomecek of Arizona, Emily Irwin of Surprise and Katherine Dufkin of Coxsackie; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A brother, Cornelius Irwin Jr., and a sister, Norma Pollack, predeceased him. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Columbia-Greene, 47 Liberty Street, Catskill 12414, or the Coxsackie Rescue Squad, 119 Mansion Street, Coxsackie 12051. Arrangements were with W.C. Brady's Sons Inc. Funeral Home, Coxsackie.
