June 28 1865 Cornelius sold his land in Fremont, New York to a JacobEbert, who had adjoining land. The deed stated that it had one hundredtwenty eight rods of land more or less. In an earlier deed transfer fromJames Canon to Cornelius B Canon the later paid three hundred seventydollars for forty five and a quarter acres more or less in Calikoon(later spelled Calicoon) Township, just east of where they later lived.Cornelius sold this land to Ira H. Canon for four hundred dollars.Cornelius' wife Ruth M. matches the Ruth M. Wood, daughter of BenjaminWood of Liberty, Sullivan County. They named one son Benjamin, after herfather but did not name a daughter after her mother, Tammy.
