No record of Wagner in city directories 1859 on. Have not found in any 1860 census either.

There is a Conrad Wagner who volunteers in 1861 for the 21st regiment that served in the Civil War. See: _Chronicles of the Twenty-First Regiment New York State Volunteers_ by Harrison Mills viewable through Google books.

1860 US Census: Conrad Wagner Buffalo Ward 4, Erie, NY 21 1838 Germany Male

In 1850 there's a Coonrad Waggoner in Hamburg, Erie, age 30. Seems a bit too young for my Catharina, but it's possible.

In 1850 there's also a Cunrad Wagner in Ward 4, Buffalo, b. abt. 1835-- even younger for my "old lady" Catharine; he'd have been 21 at marriage.
