Clyde married late in life, to Ruth Martin Russell (1918-2015) (sister to his brother, Russell's wife) on 10 Jan 1947 in Colorado Springs, CO. In 1940, he was a car mechanic for Lidell Motors in Terre Haute. From 1942-1960, he worked at Moore's Auto Exchange in Terre Haute. They couple had no children.
