20 Jun 1895, p 3 - Claude Hollowell was born in Cambridge City, October 7, 1856, and died at his home in Claypool, June 6, 1895. For several years he has been in failing health, but his last illness was of only eleven days duration. At the age of sixteen he learned telegraphing under Jas. Newby. His first position as an operator was at New Castle, with the Ft. Wayne railroad, and he remained in that place for about fifteen years. In 1880 he was married to Miss Emma Kinsey, who proved a devoted and helpful companion. For the past five years he has been engaged in the drug business and was quite successful. He was of a happy, jovial disposition, and always glad to meet his friends, especially those from his native town, to which he was always loyal and much attached. He was an upright, moral gentleman, with industrious and careful habits, and left a character unstained. He leaves a mother, two brothers, and a faithful wife to mourn their loss. His remains rest peacefully in Riverside cemetery.
