He died in Massachusetts around 1750, where he was deported with his family in 1755. His widow and children settled at Saint-Jacques-de-l'Achigan, in Qu�bec. !MARRIAGE-CHILDREN-RESIDENCES: Article "The Bourgeois Family" by A. Robert BOURGEOIS of Capitola, CA gives exact marriage date. Says his widow and several of his children arrived at Saint Jacques de l'Achigan in the summer of 1774, and settled there. A further note says: "While CLAUDE BOURGEOIS was in exile in Massachusetts, ten or twelve men kidnapped two of his daughters, one twenty-five and the other nineteen years old." [His youngest daughter Nathalie would have been 19 in 1762, Marguerite 2 years older, and next oldest would be Gertrude, born 1738, around 24 years old in 1762. Were Nathalie and Gertrude the ones, and whatever happened to them?] References
