Single, living in Salem, MA at 1900 and 1910 census. 1912 Salem Directory lists her as living at 58 Federal. Living at 352 Massachusetts Avenue in Boston at 1920 census. In Boston at 1930 census. Ellis Island records show her arriving 13 August 1913 aboard the Tagus from Barbados.

Wardwell, who has resigned as teacher in the Bentley Grammar School to accept a more lucrative position in the Dwight School, Boston, was tendered a pleasant surprise by her old pupils Saturday afternoon, and presented with a valuable steel engraving enclosed in a handsome frame." -The Boston Globe 28 October 1889
