Sept-4,1953- Mrs. William Porter,75 years old
died at her home in Valley City , North of Knob Noster.
She suffered a stroke nine years ago and had been
bed fast for the past 2 years. The funeral was held
at Valley City Church , conducted by the Rev. Wasson
pastor of the Knob Noster Methodist church.
Burial was at Sunset Hill in Warrensburg.
Mrs. Porter was the former Clara Susan Hall, daughter
of the late John and Mary Hall, and was born July 17,1878
in Valley City. She was married in 1899 to William
Porter. All of their married life was spent in
Valley City and vicinity. She was a member of the
Methodist church. Surviving are her husband of the
home and 2 sons, Rolla Porter of north of Knob Noster,
and Leonard Porter of Owego, N.Y. , a daughter Mrs. Dan
Walkenhorst of north of Knob Noster, 4 brothers, Louis Hall
of Dunksburg, Ben and Allen Hall of Knob Noster,
and Clarence Hall of Warrensburg., 2 sisters, Mrs. Annie
Cox and Mrs. Sadie Cox of Warrensburg, and 3 grandchildren
Cause of death - Pneumonia
