Facts and Events
Mrs. Nellie May Walkenhorst 87, Sweet Springs, formerly
of Knob Noster died Dec,18,1989, at the Care Center in
Sweet Springs. She was born July 8, 1902 in Valley City,
Mo. the daughter of William Effie Porter and Clara Susan
(Hall) Porter. She lived in the Valley City, Knob Noster
area all her life until moving to Sweet Springs 8 or 9
years ago. She was married to Dan Walkenhorst on Feb.19,1942
in Warrensburg, Mo. He preceded her in death March 30,1971.
Survivors include one brother, Rolla Porter, Sweet Springs
formerly of Knob Noster, 2 nieces and l nephew. Funeral
services were at the Sweeny-Phillips Funeral Chapel in
Warrensburg. Burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Warrensburg.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society
