Richard Hall 52 years old , a resident of Valley City died Aug. 29, 1928, following an operation for appendicitis. He was born in Johnson County Dec. 20, 1867 the son of John and Mary J. Hall. He married Miss Purdie Packham in 1907. She died Feb. 12, 1920 leaving her husband with 5 children who have since made their home with his mother Mrs. Mary Hall. He leaves his children, 2 sons Jessie and Oscar, 3 daughters, Mable, Alice, and Mary who was married to Herman Canada in 1927. his mother Mrs. Mary Hall, brothers, George, Lewis, Ben, Allen and Clarence 3 sisters, Mrs. Clara Porter, Mrs. Sadie Cox, and Mrs. Annie Wise, all of Johnson county, and 2 half-brothers James W Hall and Will Hall. The funeral was held at the home of his sister. Burial was in the Payne cemetery.
