On the ship list 10/08/1737 with Barbara, Anna and Peter as Hershberger. Christian and family settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania in the Irish Creek region two miles northeast of Bernville in the present day Penn Township where Christian took up two warrents. The first for 140 acres and the second was for 80 acres.

The origin of this family: The Shield: Gold with a blue chevron and three silver bells. The Crest: Five ostrich feathers. http://www.traceit.com/cgi-bin/getcoa. Note: it is written that Christian was a solder and bodyguard for Emperor Frederick the Great of Prussia (Our Harshbarger Family Genealogy, pg 3).

About 1750 Christian Sr. owned 219 acres onn Molasses Hill in Berne Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania.

1815, 8 March-Land was combined from three separate land patents that had been purchased previously by "him" at different times. (At this time Christian Sr. would have had to have been about 101 yrs old. Believe this information probably applies to Christian Jr. as 1815 is the year Christian Jr. died. The land combination may have been done upon his death).
