Charles Witt's will is dated 1771 and was probated in 1781 in Halifax County, (In the Army) (Deed Book No. 1, Page 414). He named wife Lamina (not Lavina) and 11 children to include Joseph (1750-1824 - Revolutionary War soldier from NC). He willed to each of his children a "cow" and so many pounds "sterling".
