Jakob Friedrich Gottfried Sevin, was second son of Ernst Gottfried Carl Sevin. Jakob's two sons, Charles and Jacob Theodore came to the United States. Charles went first to Guilderland, NY for two years and then to Erie, Pennsylvania. His brother Jacob Theodore came to Erie, Pennsylvania a few years later.

"Jacob was a teacher in Heidelberg and Grunstadt and married Catharina Vobling. His two sons emigrated to America, where my brother Ludwig visited them in Erie, Pennsylvania in the year 1867."
