Personal History

According to the brochure about "Prairie Homestead," Charles moved to California in 1936 to be with his mother, Alice Brown. He rented the property to George Carr. Charles is listed on the 1940 Census (Grundy McDonald) living with his brother-in-law, sister, and mother (mother is listed as a sister-in-law). In 1946, he sold the homestead to Mr. and Mrs. Leslie C. Crew.
