Alexr Anderson was b. 16may1787 at Auchterderran (IGI) or Dothan (Latter day saints). Cecilia Oliphant was b. 28oct1785 and chr 12nov1785 at Kirkcaldy, daughter of Henry Oliphant and Janet Hutchison (IGI, scotsfind). A Henry Oliphant was buried 16dec1820 at Kirkcaldy (Fife FHS). Alexander Anderson married (3jun1805 Kirkcaldy, 4jun1805 Abbotshall, IGI) Cecilia Oliphant (27oct1785 Fife-3apr1872 Fife, daughter of Henry Oliphant and Janet Hutchinson) (angelfire website). Alexander and Cecilia arrived at Freemantle, Australia, 1831, he became a farmer and miller at Thorpe Mill, Bothwell, Tasmania (Fife FHS). There is a headstone of Alexander Anderson and spouse Cecilia Oliphant at Abbotshall churchyard, Kirkcaldy (rootsweb). A Trust settlement was made in 1868 by Mrs. Cecilia Oliphant or Anderson, res Townsend Pl., Kirkcaldy, who d. there 3apr1872, reg 1872 at Cupar, Fife. Executors were sons Henry Anderson esq. of Chapel, Alexander Anderson esq. of Baangal, Victoria, flockmaster, and grandson William Fowler Timms esq., res at Colinswell nr. Burntisland. Beneficiaries were: grandchildren Mary Cecilia, Helen, Margaret and Catherine Tod, ?daughter (wife of John Tod of Forrest Gn., Tasmania), eldest daughter Janet Anderson (wife of Thomas Anderson of Portland, Victoria), daughter Jane (wife of Thomas Elliot Richardson of Geelong), daughter Margaret (wife of Philip Black, res in Glasgow). Also beneficiaries were Margaret Skone or Henderson (wife of Andrew Henderson, res at Chapel), granddaughter Cecilia Oliphant Anderson (2nd daughter of Henry) and daughter Helen, widow of late Robert Corney, esq. of Lake Farm, Tasmania, and now wife of William O’Keefe of Launceston, who "should purchase a memorial to me".
