    p 43 - 5 MARY CATHERINE HESS, born in Lower Saucon Twp., Northampton County, Pa., May 17, 1778, was married to John Beidelman, farmer, of the same Township, born April 22, 1781. He was a son of Daniel Beidelman, born Nov. 16, 1749, who served as First Lieut. in Eighth Company, Captain Jacob Wagner, First Battalion, Northampton County Militia, in the Revolutionary Army. Daniel was a nephew of Samuel Beidelman, the "Indiana fighter," whose wife was a daughter of Nicholas Hess.

    John Beidelman purchased a farm in New Britain Township, Bucks County, Pa., near Fountainville, where he and his wife ended their days. Mr. Beidelman died March 20, 1852, and his wife's death occurred October 26, 1856; both were buried at St. Peter's Lutheran and Reformed church burying ground, Hilltown, Bucks County, Pa. They raised five children: Catharine, Eliza, Israel, Joseph H. and Frederica.
