Catherine Fernihough was baptised on 27th May 1748 at Flintham in Nottinghamshire, daughter of Elizabeth Fernihough, formerly Aram, and her husband, John Fernihough, a farmer. Catherine appears to have been their eldest child. Some time between 1752 and 1755 the family left Flintham and moved about nineteen miles south to Willoughby on the Wolds.

Catherine died at the age of twelve, being buried on 30th November 1760 at Willoughby on the Wolds.
