Personal History

Research Notes

I have found him and his family in the 1900 census for Hebron, McHenry, Illinois and in the 1910 census for Greenwood, McHenry, Illinois. In the 1930 census for Woodstock, McHenry, Illinois, I found his widowed second wife, Mary (or Maria) with her daughter, Elsa W. Jensen (wife of Harold C. Jensen). I have not yet been able to find him or his wife in the 1920 census. He may have been from "Wierk," which is probably misspelled; could be Wiek in Mecklenburg, or Wieck in Westpreussen, or less likely Wiera in Hessen-Nassau. I have found that his first wife was Minnie Kummow (or Kummerow), but have not yet found their marriage certificate. I will add more about his family later on.
