Services for Blanche Moses

Funeral services for Blanche Moses were held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 25, 1989, at the Garden City United Methodist Church in Monona, Iowa, with Rev. Gary Dobbins and Rev. Tom Mattison officiating. Organist was Mrs. Ric Benzing. Special music was provided by Sheryl & Mary Zittergruen. Burial was in Council Hill Cemetery, rural McGregor, Iowa. Pallbearers were the grandchildren of Blanche Moses. Schultz's Funeral Home was in charge of servics.

Blanche Mabel Robinson Moses was born in McGregor, Iowa, June 20, 1902, to parents William and Marietta Robinson Robinson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist faith. She received her education in Pleasant Ridge country school near McGregor.

On July 4, 1923, Blanche was united in marriage to William Moses in the United Methodist Church in McGregor. To this union five children were born. The couple farmed in the Monona area from 1924 to 1960. They retired and moved to Strawberry Point from 1960 to 1962. In 1962, they moved to Ferryville, Wis. She resided in Ferryville at the time of her death.

Blanche died Friday, April 21, 1989, at the Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wis.

Preceding her in death were her parents; 1 sister; 4 brothers; 1 grandson; 1 granddaughter; and three great grandchildren.

Surviving are her husband, William Sr.; two sons, Willard of Colorado Springs, Co., and William Jr. of Monona; three daughters, Shirley Stangeland of LaCrosse, Wis., Dolly Klingeman of Monona, and Betty Moose of Garnavillo, Iowa; 24 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Gilbert Robinson of Cedar Rapids, Ia.
