Obituary: ELBERTON, GA. -- Bennie England Craft, 80, of Route 2, Montevideo Community, died Friday in the Elberton-Elbert County Hospital after six years of declining health. A native of Hart County, he lived most of his life in Elbert County. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Rock Branch Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Elberton Masonic Lodge. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sallie Ruth Evans Craft of the home; 3 sons,Thomas V. Craft of Tucker, George Marvin Craft of Iva, S.C., and James Donnie Craft of Elberton; 5 daughters, Mrs. Omer Adams of Stone Mountain, Mrs. Thomas Bowen of Decatur, Mrs. Hailey Partain of Anderson, S.C., Mrs. Charles Gaines of Arlington, Va. and Mrs. Jim Cook of Clarkston; 3 brothers, Claude Craft of Elberton, Denver and George Robert Craft of Birmingham, Ala; 2 sisters Mrs. Lillie Tucker of Hartwell and Mrs. Ruth Durant of Birmingham, Ala; 23 grandchildren and 19 great - grandchildren. Services were held Sunday at the Rock Branch Baptist Church by the Rev Edward Sayer and the Rev. Jack Turner.
