The obituary for Effie Verona Powell Craft was found in the Friday, March 9, 1951 edition of The Hartwell Sun newspaper, Hartwell, Georgia. Mrs. Effie V. Craft, 80, Dies in Alabama; Burial in Hart (Elberton Star) Mrs. Effie V. Craft, 80 years old, died Saturday night February 24th at 10 o'clock at the hom e of her daughter, Mrs. Ruth Mullenix, in Birmingham, Ala. Following a long illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, February 27th at 11 o'clock a t Cokesbury Methodist Church in Hart County by the Rev. Henry Smith and the Rev. R. H. Peterson, and burial was in the church cemetery. The Elberton Department Store, funeral directors, had charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Craft lived in Elbert County many years and reared here family here. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. J. W. Tucker of Atlanta; M. L. Craft, Anderson, South Carolina; B. E. and Paul Craft of Elberton; C. F. Craft of Hartwell; Denver Craft, Mrs. Ruth Mullinix and G. R. Craft of Birmingham, Ala. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. O. M. A. Skelton, Mrs. Maude Goss, Mrs. Ollie Craft all of Elberton; Mrs. Onnie Craft of Cedartown, and two brothers, Albert and Oren Powell of Jacksonville, Fla.
