June 24, 1926 - Aug. 25, 2006 ANDERSON, S.C.
Mr. Robert Nathanael Brawner, age 80, husband of Betty Partain Brawner of 209 Knollwood Drive, Anderson, SC, died Friday, August 25, 2006 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC. Born in Franklin County, GA on June 24, 1926, Mr. Brawner was a son of the late Herman Brawner and Lula Roberts Brawner. He was retired from American Motors/Chrysler Manufacturers and was a member of the United Auto Workers in Kenosha, WI. He was a United States Army World War II veteran and loved bluegrass music and was an outdoorsman. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple in Starr.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Partain Brawner of the home; sons, Larry Brawner of Sturtevant, WI, Mike Brawner of Arizona, Bill Brawner of St. Petersburg, FL, Greg Brawner of Hurst, TX and step-son, Charles "Newt" Partain of Anderson, SC; daughter, Pati Brawner of Sturtevant, WI; step-daughter, Janet Partain Saville of Anderson, SC; brothers, Reverend Truitt Brawner of Toccoa, GA and Grady Brawner of Eastanollee, GA; sisters, Louise Crowder of Lavonia, GA, Mary Isom of Anderson, SC, Martha Brawner of Lavonia, GA, Betty Phillips of Commerce, GA and Lynda Sellers of Toccoa, GA. Seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Opal Brown Brawner; a brother, James Brawner and a sister, Ruth Brown.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 28, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverends Sam Duncan and Truitt Brawner. Interment will follow in Middle River Baptist Church Cemetery in Carnesville, GA at 4:00 pm on Monday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 27, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The family will be at the residence.
