(g. s.), dau. of John and Mindwell [(Sheldon)] (Pomeroy) Lyman; five children; m. (2) at Bolton, 1 Dec. 1737, Deborah Gillett, b. abt. 1714, d. at Bolton, 19 Mar. 1795 in 81st yr. (g. s.); seven children. He was confirmed Ensign of the Bolton company, May 1737; Lieutenant, May 1742; and Captain, Oct. 1746. Deputy for Bolton, May 1755, May and Oct. 1757, Mar., May and Oct. 1758, Feb., Mar. and Oct. 1759, Mar. 1760, May and Oct. 1761, Mar. and May 1762, May 1763, May and Oct. 1764, Oct. 1765, May 1766, May 1767, May 1769, May and Oct. 1770, May 1771, Oct. 1772, May and Oct. 1774, Mar. and Apr. 1775. Justice, 1764 to 1775 inclusive. Their great-grandson, Dr. Alvan Talcott of Guilford, Conn. (Yale, 1824), compiled the valuable manuscript history of Guilford families which he left by will to the New Haven Colony Historical Society."
