He held many town offices, was elected selectman several times beginning in 1694, was tithingman, "Sergeant and Ensign etc. He was a husbandman according to his will.Benjamin Savil "child of this church" admitted to full communion Apr.2,1681, and wife Lydia Jun.15,1684, and daughter Rebecca Jul.21,1697.He left a will dated Jun.23,1719, proved Jan.21,1722(3) giving to his son Samuel all his housing and lands and bequeathing to daughters Rebecca Bass, Hannah Dean & Sarah Savel, also to grand daughter Mehitable Owen when she becomes aged 18.He was elected deacon to succeed Nathaniel Wales who became Ruling Elder in 1700, according to Hancock's Century Sermons.S.P.
