Ben Lestina Funeral Held Funeral services for Ben F. Lestina, 68, were held Friday morning, Nov. 9, at 9:30 o'clock in St. Patrick's church with Rev. John Peters in charge. Burial was in St. Patrick's cemetery. Mr. Lestina died Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the McGregor hospital after a several months illness. He was born the son of Frank and Kathryn Tinker Lestina Aug. 11, 1888, on a farm in Giard township, where he lived all his life. He received his education in the rural schools of Giard township. He was a member of St. Patrick's church. He was married to Tilly Holly at Monona Nov. 7, 1916. She died in 1940. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward. Surviving are a son, Gerald, with whom he made his home; a daughter, Mrs. William (Jean) Gentz of Dubuque; five sisters, Mrs. Frank (Rose) Klima of Monona, Mrs. Mary Blietz of Portage, Wis., Mrs. Kathryn Marovets of Ionia, Mrs. Frances Papachek of Warwick, N.D., and Mrs. Ben Klima of Milwaukee, Wis.; and nine grandchildren. Pallbearers were: A.M. Burlingame, Sylvester Lotza, Simon E. Moses, Alex Berns, Barney Whittle, Ben A. Lestina, John Havlicek and Gerald Mielke. Ben F. Lestina MONONA, Ia. -- Services for Ben F. Lestina, 68, were Friday in St. Patrick's Church here. The Rev. John Peters officiated and burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Mr. Lestina died Tuesday in the McGregor hospital after a heart attack. He was born Aug. 3, 1888, a son of Frank and Katherine Tinker Lestina, in Giard township. He married Tillie Holly Nov. 7, 1916, and they farmed near Monona. His wife died in 1940. Surviving are two children, Gerald of Monona and Mrs. William (Jean) Gentz of Dubuque; nine grandchildren, and five sisters, Mrs. Frances Papachek of Warwick, N.D., Mrs. Rose Klima of Monona, Mrs. Ben Klima of Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. Mary Blietz of Portage, Wis., and Mrs. Kathryn Marovets of Ionia, Ia.
