    Funeral services for Mr. Ben Hamstra, age 75, who died at his home on Monday, Feb. 11, (1985) will be conducted on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 10:30 a.m. in the Second Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Andrew Cammenga officiating. Burial will follow in Monumenta Cemetery. Mr. Hamstra, of 815 Glenning St., Lynden, was born in Paterson, N.J. on Oct. 24, 1909. From Paterson his family moved to Zillah in Yakima County where they resided for a short time before moving to Lynden in 1911. A retired carpenter and farmer, Mr. Hamstra was an avid fisherman and a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church. He was married to Clara Einfield in Lynden on September 6, 1978. He is survived by his wife Clara; a son Kenneth and wife MaryEllen of Lynden; a daughter, Mrs. Gayle and husband Robert DeGroot of Everson; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Nellie Honcoop, Mrs. Jeanne DeVries, and Margaret Hamstra, all of Lynden; Mrs. Emma Banker of Seattle and Henrietta Hamstra of Ferndale; five brothers, John of Everett, Edward and Andrew of Lynden, Martin of Hawthorne, N.J. and Calvin of Vashon Island; two sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gertrude, in 1971. Services were under the direction of the Gillies Funeral Home, Lynden.
