Land Survey

26 May 1800: Surveyed for Paulser Johnson 100 acres of Land by virtue of an Entr made the 15th of February 1782 in the surveyors office of Montgomery County in the name of Ephraim Dunlop & by him Transferred to Mary Thompson Infant Daughter to Samuel Thompson Deceased, who intermarried with Sd. Paulser Johnson, on a State Warrant of 100 acres No. 7562 & dated the 24th day of October 1781 Lying in Wythe County on the waters of Peck Creek, Beginningst 3 pine trees on a flat Ridge thence N. 26° W 22 poles ___ Peppers Ferry Road to a stake in a thickett of Elder bushes on the branch above the brush Lick S64° W74 poles to a black oak grubs? on a brushy Ridge S26 E220 Cropins __ Road to a stake on the side of a Ridge & thence N64 74 poles to the Beginning.

    Description
    Baltzer Yonson was born on 10 October 1774 and died c.1850. Yonson married Mary Thompson, born in 1799 [s/b abt. 1782, they MARRIED in 1799], and they had 10 children. The descendants of Yonson settled on Johnson as their last name (though the collection includes several variations), developing a machinery business in the 20th century under the name of R. P. Johnson. The collection consists of receipts dating from 1803-1859. The items in the collection include tax receipts, estate bills for clothes, machinery, auctions, and other ephemera, mostly belonging to Baltzer (Palser) Yonson (Johnson) and his wife, Mary Thompson.
