Augustine Coffman [Kauffman] Jr was born in 1754 in Narrow Creek Passage, Dunmore in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. He was the son of Augustine Kauffman Sr and Anna Catherina Hatzenböhler.
He married Mary Catherine Houtz in 1775 in Dunmore (Shenandoah) Virginia and they had nine children together (not in birth order):
1) Mary Catherine – married Henry Surber.
2) Christine – married John Wetzel.
3) Adam (born 1778) – married twice, Elizabeth Anna Hausenfluck and Mary Cook.
4) Anna Mary – married Henry Riffy.
5) Mathias.
6) Elizabeth – married David Fadely.
7) Barbara – married John Haller.
8) Mary Elizabeth – married Jonathan Fadeley.
9) John Augustine (born 1797) – married Rebecca Husflick (Hausenfluck).
Augustine jr. passed away in 1818 in Narrow Passage, Shenandoah, Virginia.
