Biography of Lois Brownfield Rose

Service were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, in Cee Vee Baptist Church for Mrs. Augie Lois Brownfield Rose, 74, Officiating was Rev. James Smith of Childress.

Mrs. Rose died February 20, in Oak Cliff Medical and Surgical Clinic, Dallas, following a lengthy illness.

Born March 7, 1906, in Oklahoma, she moved to Cee Vee from Gladewater, Texas in 1948. She was the daughter of Judah Brownfield and Allie Alzada Hunt. She was formerly married to Paul Richey of Hopkins County, Texas. They were the parents of two daughters. She married H. Dana rose about 1929. They were the parents of seven children. Dana and Lois lived in Childress, Texas. After the death of her husband, Harry D. Rose in 1972, Mrs. Rose moved to Dallas.

Survivors include two sons, Willie Dean Rose of Lockney, Texas and H. D. Rose, Borger; four daughters, Ruth Aricheta, Dallas; Tressie Laycock, New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; Mitty McAlister, Childress; and Betty Tabor, San Jose, California; three step-sons, Cecil Rose, Gladewater; Jamie Rose, Gladewater; and Joe Rose, Anchorage, Alaska; 32 grandchildren, and several great-grand-children.

Burial was in Cee Vee Cemetery-Haven of Rest, under direction of Seigler Funeral home. Pall-bearers were Bob Jones, Tracy Evans, Gaylon Riddell, Glen Seal, Rush and Tate Timmons.
