July 12, 1928 -pg 4, col 4- Birth Announcement Mr. and Mrs. Athel Jackson, West Market Street, announce the birth of a six pound baby girl, born at Culver hospital on Wednesday . The little Miss has been named Claudene. The mother was before her marriage, Miss Helen Bond.

Crawfordsville Journal Review- Mon July 26, 1982- page 2- Athel W. Jackson Darlington- Athel W. Jackson, 76, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette. He was a member of the Darlington Methodist Church, and was a retired farmer. Born in Montgomery Co., IN. on May 31, 1906, he was the son of Esten C. and Achsa Williams Jackson. He was married at Crawfordsville on April 16, 1927 to Miss Helen Bond. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Robert J. of Lafayette, a daughter, Claudine Charters of Darlington: a sister, Mrs. Francis Wall of Greenville, Mich., five grandchildren and seven great – grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Burkhart Funeral , Darling Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth . Following the interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Darlington United Methodist Church.
