Personal History

Arthur John Hamilton was born 20 August 1883.[1]

In 1901,[2] Arthur became second lieutenant in the 3rd Battalion, the Royal Scots (Lothian Regiment), before being attached to the Irish Guards in the same year.[3] He was promoted to captain in 1909.[4] In 1913,[5] he retired with pay to serve as captain in the Special Reserve.

On 5 March 1913,[6] Arthur was appointed by King George V to be Deputy Master of His Majesty's household.

Death and Probate

Arthur died 6 November 1914, in Flanders.[7]

On 12 March 1918,[7] in London, administration was granted to the Rt. Hon. Frederic Hamilton and the Rt. Hon. Ralph Francis Howard; effects were in the amount of £28,292 17s 6d.
