Personal History

Alexandra Phyllis Hamilton,[1] daughter of James Hamilton and Mary Anna[2] (later the Duke and Duchess of Abercorn), was born 23 January 1876,[2] probably in Mayfair, co. Middlesex, England (registered in the district of St George Hanover Square),[1] and was baptized 29 February 1876 in Quebec Chapel in the parish of St. Marylebone.[2] Her godmother was Queen Alexandra, then Princess of Wales.[2]

Death and Probate

Alexandra died 10 October 1918, at sea,[3] when the RMS Leinster was sunk by two torpedoes while enroute from Kingstown (later Dún Laoghaire), Ireland, to Holyhead, Wales.

On 30 January 1919,[3] in London, administration (with will) was granted to her mother Mary Anna, dowager Duchess of Abercorn; effects were in the amount of £16,169 10s 3d.
