!BIOGRAPHY: Mom (Laura Bitter) remembers her grandmother: as being a knitter from the age of 6, gave each of her grandchildren a $1 bill at Christmas (that was a lot at that time). She knit Mom a sweater when Mom went to Cornell for college, was to her specifications. After her daughter Becky passed, she went to live with her son and law and Ann. She also made bedspreads, Mom has three, one of which is a wedding present. She did not get along with her brother John who lived on a farm on the Waterford road. John had a daughter (Mary?) who had a disorder that caused to blink a lot. Mom remembers her very good bread and sugar cookies with scalloped edges. Her daughters thought that she was working too hard, so told her that they would do the laundry, she got up at 4 AM and had it done before daughters arrived as she did not want anyone to do her tasks. Most Sundays after Sunday school and church service were spent at Grandpa and Grandmas. Youth fellowship was not attended as parents figured that they had made enough trips each week to Mechanicville. 1912 !BIOGRAPHY: George W and Annie Morrow McBride bought the farm from the Warren Baker estate in 1912 "I just barely remember great-gramma McBride (Anne Morrow) she died at the farmhouse (Mom & Dad's) She told Aunt Grace that she was tired & laid down on the couch before, not sure if it was lunch or dinner and died! Diane" [(Leggett) Saunders]
