Had Annie L. Lott lived another month, she and Robert E. Lee Steward would have celebrated their 69th wedding annivarsary. She died suddenly on her 87th birthday at the Kentucky Convalescent Home in owensboro, KY. Robert Stewart, her husband, died at the same place at the age of 94 years.

Annie L. and Robert E. Stewart belonged to two pioneer families of Hancock County. Robert was a brother of Mary Martha (Stewart) Lamar who married Robert Emery Lamar, son of Benoni Smith Lamar. He was only nine months old when his father died from wounds received in the Civil War. At the time of his death, Robert was a retired farmer. He owned the old Lamar home, formerly owned by Benoni Smith and James S. Lamar and on which is located the Lamar Cemetery. The farm became the property of Robert Stewart, a son, Annie and Robert E. Lee Stewart were buried in the Lamar Cemetery.
