From Robert Tevis (Tivis), His Parents, His Siblings, and His Progeny by Nancy Pearrer Lesure

The marriage of Ann Tevis and Francis Wells, son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Howard) Wells, took place 20 Mar 1757 in St. Thomas' Parish. In the next 12 years this marriage was blessed with six daughters and three sons, their births all recorded at St. Thomas'. Included are Robert Tevis Wells, born 25 Jan 1759, and Marget Wells, born 30 Jan 1760. Francis Wells died 13 Apr 1769, and sometime before 1781 Ann Wells married again. Her second husband was Thomas Lane, by whom she is reported to have had two more daughters.
