  • cos1776 Note: The family's house at 118 W. Church St. was later used as a parsonage for the Cambridge Christian church. It was torn down in 1973, and the church has since expanded to fill the land once occupied by the home.

    MRS. WILLARD PETRO Mrs. Willard Petro, 80 years old, prominent local clubwoman, died Monday. She resided at 118 West Church street. Mrs. Petro was active in the work of the Indiana Federation of Women's Clubs, serving as state chairman of the Co-operation of the Blind department for three years and chairman of the same department for the district for some time. She was president of the Capital Hill Cemetery Association for a number of years and served seven years as a member of the board of the Cambridge City-Jackson township consolidated school. She also had served for a number of years on the Creitz Park board. Mrs. Petro was a charter member of the Rebekah lodge, was affiliated with the Eastern Star Lodge, Past Worthy Matrons club, the Helen Hunt and Nora Hicks club. She was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving are the husband; a daughter, Mrs. H.L. Hall of Bronxville, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. James Laux, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Alma Guerin of Connersville; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. At the residence in charge of Rev. R.H. Wehrly and Rev. M.L. Scheidler. Burial in Riverside cemetery. Members of the Eastern Star held services Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock.
