Biography

Mrs. Martha (Develin) Pitman was born 25 Feb 1839 in Milton, Wayne County, Indiana. She was the daughter of George Develin and Anna Rains. She married Leonidas Lycurgas Pitman in Wayne County on 17 Sep 1857 when she was 19 years old. She and Lee were the parents of eleven children with several dying in childhood. Martha and Lee lived their entire married life in Cambridge City, Indiana where they ran an ice business. Martha died two years before her husband on 26 Oct 1924 in the 85th year of her age. She is buried in Riverside Cemetery.
