From Chris Hammond

My third great grandfather (William Hawkins) came to Jackson, Michigan around 1850 with his brother George. Then he sent for his wife (Ann Willmore) and their son John Hawkins. Until now I haven't been able to go back any farther. I think that your Ann Willmore is his wife.

William is my third great grandfather and Ann is his first wife, who I think is your Ann Willmore, and John is their son and Sarah L. was his wife.

From Martie Hawkins Nelson

William H. Hawkins (1/8/1810) and brother, George left England (Winslow, Buckinghamshire?) 1850s - to USA. Worked in USA and sent for wife and children. William married to Ann Willmore 10/26/1809 - children John William 4/22/1847 - 7/9/1878, Elizabeth Hawkins Burkhardt, Ann Hawkins Daniels, Susan Hawkins Bennett. John William Hawkins married Sarah Laney Weed (7/9//1846) of New York with children of William Ralph Hawkins (1881-1976), Harold Fellows Hawkins (My grandfather) (3/19/84 - 1966) and Alice Eva Hawkins 3/21/87 - 1959. would like any information on William H. Hawkins and George and their parents. Also on Ann Willmore. Have lots of information on families in USA but nothing on English connection. Stories say that William and George were bridge builders in England????

The 1850 census shows William Hawkins, 39, from England and George Hawkins, 30, from England living with the Edward Miller family in Jackson.

The 1860 census shows William Hawkins, 50, from England, a farmer in Blackman twp. He has 4 children living with him: Elizabeth, 21; Ann, 16; John, 14; and Susan, 9. The children were all born in England.
