Ann Newborn was baptised on 27th March 1752 at Barnack in Northamptonshire, the fourth of five children of Mary Newborn, formerly Rowell, and her husband Edward Newborn.

On 4th December 1769, aged seventeen, Ann married Thomas Fancourt at Stamford Baron, being that part of the nearby town of Stamford on the south bank of the River Welland, which at that time was in Northamptonshire.

After their marriage, Ann and Thomas settled in Barnack, having five children baptised there between 1770 and 1789, although one died young. There is also a notable gap between the fourth and fifth children of almost twelve years, which may indicate that the family lived away from Barnack for a time before returning. Ann's father died in 1773. It is not clear when Ann's mother died.

Thomas has yet to be traced after the baptism of their youngest son in 1789.

Ann lived to be 83 years old. She was buried at Barnack on 13th December 1835.
