    "Andrew, son of Edward Hall [and Esther ---], was born May 10, 1665, in Rehoboth, died in Newton, Massachusetts, 1756. His will was dated September 30, 1748, and his son Edward was executor. He was a weaver and farmer and settled in Newton in 1695. In 1705 he bought forty-three acres of land between Oak Hill and Charles river, which has been owned and occupied by his descendants ever since. He married (first) in Newton, 1691, Susanna Capen, born September 16, 1664, died August 18, 1736, daughter of John and Susanna Capen, of Dorchester, and granddaughter [sic, great-gd, see Hall, below] of Bernard and Jane (Purchase) Capen, the immigrants. He married (second) October 12, 1737, Mary Bennett, who survived him." Children: John, Susanna, Sarah, Dorothy, Edward, Andrew, Hannah.

    "(Family 3.) ANDREW HALL2, Edward1: b. in Rehoboth, May 10, 1665; d. in Newton, Mass., 1756. His will was dated Sept. 30, 1748, and is on file in the probate office at Cambridge. His son Edward, was executor, and had the homestead which had been conveyed to him Dec. 8, 1731, and confirmed by the will. He bought his step-mother's right. Andrew Hall was a weaver and farmer, and went to Newton in 1695, and Dr. Savage says he was m. there 1691 [note: it appears not in the Gen. Dict., which only says "HALL... Andrew, Newton, 1691"]. He m. Susanna, dau. of John and Susanna (Baesham) Capen, of Dorchester, b. Sept. 16, 1664, great-grandaughter of Bernard and Jane (Purchase) Capen, of Dorchester, in 1636. Andrew Hall purchased in 1705, for £22, 43 acres of land between Oak Hill and Charles river, and which has been owned and occupied by his descendants of the Hall name ever since. His wife Susanna, d. Aug. 18, 1736; m., 2d, Oct. 12, 1737, Mary Bennett, who survived him." Children: John, Susanna, Sarah, Dorothy, Edward, Andrew, Hannah.

He came into Newton about 1695, was a weaver, and cultivated a farm near Oak Hill, between that and Charles river, which remained in possession of his descendants for several generations. ...
    Andrew, Sr., m. 2nd, Oct. 12, 1737, Mary Bennett. He d. 1756, and his will is on file at the Probate Office. Though his parentage hitherto is not traced, there exists an engraved coat-of-arms among his descendants apparently very old, and having the birth of his great-grandson Edward, of Boston, b. Nov. 12, 1766, recorded under it. It is very similar to the one used by the Halls of Medford. ...
