Amos May was born on 8th October 1866 in Plymouth, Devon, son of Ann May, formerly Hutchings, and her husband William May, a publican. Sadly Amos died as a small baby; he was baptised on 4th November 1866 at Plymouth's Charles Church, but then his death was registered before the end of 1866.
