Palmer Sr., 81, Rt. 1, Pelham, who died Tuesday 14 Sep 1971 at Mitchell County Hospital after a lengthy illness was held Thursday, 16 Sep 1971 at 4:00 PM from Braswell Funeral Home Chapel in Pelham. Rev Bill Perry officiated. Interment was in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were Maynard Palmer, Ronnie Palmer, Charles Palmer, Milwood Eubanks, Euitt Palmer, Max Palmer, Marcus Collins and John Collins Jr. Born in Mitchell County 23 Oct 1889, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hiram E. Palmer (editorial comment: He was really the son of Harmon Preston and Anna Jane Luckey Palmer). He was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sara Norton Palmer of Pelham; one son, A. V. Palmer Jr. of Pelham; one daughter, Mrs. Harry Adams of Pelham and two grandsons. Braswell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
