Alma Louise Lestina

Alma Louise Lestina, daughter of Daniel Henry and Ida (Thias) Cunningham, was born January 1, 1904, at Monona, IA. She graduated from Monona High School in 1922.

Alma was united in marriage to Floyd Jake Lestina on January 1, 1939, at the Methodist Parsonage in McGregor, IA. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing, gardening, chickens and outside activities. Alma was a good pie maker.

Alma died Tuesday, December 22, 1998, at her son's home in Prairie du Chien, WI.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, who died October 12, 1984; her parents; and a sister, Ruth.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Lestina and his wife, Sharon, of Bloomington, WI, and Reed Lestina and his wife, Sue, of Prairie du Chien, WI; four grandchildren, Lynn Allen, Leah, Jessica and Jackie Lestina; two nieces and one nephew.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 24, 1998, 11:00 am at Garden City United Methodist Church, Monona. Rev. Dennis Gilbert officiated. Organist was Mrs. Priscila Miene and soloist was Mrs. Carole Gerdes. Pallbearers were Dale Henning, Loren Plozel, Franklin Schlitter, Robert Tayek, James Tayek and Lynn Lestina. Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. Schultz's Funeral Home of Monona was in charge of services.
