A. Yvonne (Sis) Crumrine Greyhosky, 68, of 731 Sherwood Drive, Carlisle, died Tuesday, October 17, 1995, in Carlisle Hospital.
Born June 19, 1927, in Wheeling, W. Va., she was a daughter of Audley S. Crumrine, who died March 1, 1995, and Freda Doretha Show Crumrine, who died September 27, 1993.
She was a graduate of Centerville High School and Waynesburg College. She completed graduate work at Ohio State University and University of Pittsburgh, where she received a master's degree in Latin.
From 1949 to 1957, she was employed by the former East Bethlehem Township and Bethlehem Joint school districts, where she taught high school English, Latin and Spanish.
She was a member of East Bethlehem Baptist Church, Deemston Borough.
She also was a member of Brethren in Christ Church, Carlisle, where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of the church choir. She served on several church committees.
She was a member of Samaritan Fellowship in Carlisle and the AARP.
She was associated with Miss American Program and executive director of Miss Cumberland Valley Scholarship Program. She was president of all local associations in the state for Miss America Program. She was awarded the Pennsylvania Volunteer Award from The Sentinel newspaper for her volunteer work in that community.
Surviving are her husband, August (Gus) Greyhosky of Carlisle; a brother, David P. Crumrine of Beallsville; two sisters, David P. Crumrine of Beallsville; two sisters, Sandra Gregory of Eighty Four and Audrey Byers of Uniontown; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a daughter, Sherrill Ann Greyhosky, who died December 30, 1983.
