There was an Alfred Queen who sserved in the Civil War in 8th Regiment, North Carolina Infantry

1830 - An Alfred Queen is listed on p. 205 of the Richmond Co. NC census, Rockingham district, age 20-29, with a wife, one daughter 4 or under, and an older female, age 60-69 (00001-100010001).[2] No other Queens appear in this county.

1831 - Iredell Co. NC will of Margaret Queen, widow of Francis Queen, dated 18 June 1831 leaves her land to be divided equally among David Queen’s seven children - “Radford, Alfred, Jesse, Emilla, Cyrus, Bashti, and Hartwell.” Gives her “wearing clothes” to “my beloved daughter Mary Correll.” “All my property that I have in Tennessee at James McBroom’s I leave for him to dispose of as he thinks proper.” Appoints her son-in-law Samuel Correl and Quillar Williams executors. Witnessed by Dean Ellis and Jehu Hendron.[3]

1837 - Wilkes Co., NC marriage bond for Alfred Queen and Susan Brotherton 25 July 1837; bondsman Francis Queen.[4]

1840 - the Iredell Co. NC federal census includes David Queen, p. 178, “Fras Queen” and A.G. Queen, p. 187, and Alfd. Queen, p 230.

1850 - the Union Co., GA federal census includes Alfred 42NC, Susan 44 NC, and children Caroline12 NC, Caloway 10 NC, Thomas7 NC, and Mary Ann 5 NC. The ages of the children support the fact that this is the same Alfred, and that he moved to GA after 1845.[5]

1860- on the Union Co., GA federal census: Alfred 49 NC, Susan 53 NC, Hugh C. 20 Nc, Thomas M. 17 NC and Mary 15 NC.[6] Four houses away was Lewis Queen, a descendant of Samuel and Dicey Queen.
