Alfred’s will was written Dec. 22, 1872 and recorded Nov. 15, 1878. He left all his real estate to wife Nancy during her life; with the remainder to his grandsons DBF Morrow and James V. Morrow. They (the grandsons) and their mother, Mary Padgett Morrow, were to live on his lands during Mary’s widowhood. Personal property went to Nancy. Any property not disposed of in the will was to be sold and the money divided between Barnard M. Morrow’s heirs, Katherine Freeman [daughter], and N.H. Morrow.

Stone is difficult to read and does not appear to include date, but it can be read to say 78 years, 11 months, 3 days, which is consistent with the July 26 death date and June 23 birthdate.
