Morrow (in the Civil War Soldier Records and Profiles, 1861-1865 database), shows enlistment in Company K in late 1863, mustering out on this date (13 Sep 1864). His wife is a widow in the 1870 census, living next to his father, and his father's 1872 will names James' sons and not him.
