274. Alexander Semple, eldedest son of James or "English" Semple, was born in London, April 29, 1805; emigrated to America, May, 1848; died at Warehouse Point, Ct., July 5, 1873. Married Jeannette Buchanan (born February 11, 1806), granddaughter of James Buchanan (of Kilbarchan), antiquarian and intimate friend of the poet, Robert Tannahill. Issue, three sons and three daughters:^S1

307. Alexander Semple, second child and eldest son of Alexander Semple (274), was born at Johnstone, Renfrewshire, Scotland, May 8, 1835. Married Elizabeth Wilson, of Dracut, Massachusetts, born near Edinburgh, October 27, 1836; eldest daughter of William and Martha White Wilson, the issue of whom now living:^S1

2. Mary Wilson, wife of Alonzo D. Greeley of Pelham, N. H.; issue, Arthur W. Greeley, Alice Maud Greeley - married Frank Hillman of Pelham, N.H.- Elizabeth Greeley (deceased), Blanche Greeley (deceased), Frederick Alonzo Greeley, and Grace Greeley.^S1

3. Alexander Wilson, married Mary Elizabeth Walker, daughter of Amor Walker of Philadelphia, and had issue: Amor Wilson (deceased), and Mary Elizabeth Wilson, now living at Broad Brook, Connecticutt, with Alexander and Elizabeth Wilson Semple, who reared her to womanhood, her mother dying in her infancy and her father remaining unmarried, now living in Philadelphia.^S1

4. William Thomas Wilson, married H. Elizabeth Dornan of Philadelphia, issue: William Elmer Wilson, and Howard Semple Wilson.^S1

5. Henry White Wilson, married Charles A. Bissell of Broad Brook, Connecticutt, issue: Charles Lindorf Bissell, Alexander Semple Bissell (deceased), William Garfield Bissell, and Florence Irene Bissell.]^S1
