Alexander Pattison, a former well known business man of this city, but for the past ten years has resided at Centerville, met with an accident Friday, that resulted in his death.. He had the contract for painting the Presbyterian church at Plain Grove. and was at work there when the accident occurred. He was working on a scaffold, when in some manner he slipped and fell to the ground, a distance of about 30 feet and was instantly killed,  He was taken to his home at Centerville and word sent to his relatives in this city. Mr. Pattison was about 50 years of age and resided in this city until about ten years ago when he moved to Centerville. While here he was in the grocery business with Will Wick on Pittsburg Street under the firm name of Pattison & Wick. He was the brother of Mrs. Boggs of this city, and of Robert, William and David Pattison of Union township. He was also a brother of the late Mrs. J. S. Fulkerson of West New Castle and a uncle of Mrs. William Wick and Dave Fulkerson. He leaves a wife and  five children to mourn his loss and they have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their sad bereavement.
